About
Artist Statement:
I enjoy the process of making something that didn’t exist before. Mostly using either acrylic or oil paint, but occasionally mixed media, I create reflections of my self; my thoughts, physical surroundings, and community. My work is two-dimensional and ranges from abstract to photographic realism. By sharing how I experience the world through a visual language, I hope to reveal something about the viewer that echoes our interconnectedness.
Bio:
I was born in Chesapeake, Virginia. As a kid and teenager I was heavily involved in art, theater, and music. Though I received my B.F.A in muscal theater from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, I’ve utilized my theatrical background to inform my studio practice.
Since then, I’ve studied at Fleisher Art Memorial and Studio Incomminati, and I’ve presented my paintings at small showings in Philadelphia since 2013. Aside from my studio practice, I create commissioned works for private clients.
