This piece is a painting of an Isaiah Zagar mural that a family commissioned the artist to do in South Philadelphia. When they moved out of the city, they could not take the wall to which Zagar’s work was attached. I was excited to recreate this complex and beautiful mural so that the family could enjoy their memories of it.
This charcoal drawing is from a photo.
One challenge I had with this commission was due to glare on the photo I recieved. It covered up part of the car in the background. I successfully completed what the car looked like in the final drawing.
14” square drawng in an 18” square frame.
